My story is not a rare one except for one small thing. I had urged my mother to get the cancer policy for her supplemental insurance through AFLAC. This suggestion was taken and it made the world of difference for my mom over the four years she battled the ugly monster. He husband was able to be with her for most of her appointments and they had money to pay their bills. They did not have to exhaust their savings. In the end my moms bills are paid and her husband had that small relief of less financial burden. I can go on and on of why supplemental insurance is important. But be well educated and pick the plans that best suit your family and possible situations. As for the accident plans. I have personally been able to heal from an injury and do it with less stress due to financial strain. It’s not a scam. It does help when you need help and use them for what they are intended. Short term disability is another plan. Read the file completely and if you have questions ask. The reps are helpful. Good luck and health.

My husband has been in the hospital in PCU for three weeks with sudden kidney failure. On the fourth day, I was so relieved to remember the Aflac payments being drafted each payday but really didn’t know what policies he had. I knew I couldn’t leave him for an hour long drive home to my computer and fax. Finding this App allowed me to check what policies we had, gather necessary documentation, have the Drs sign forms and upload everything that needed to be submitted. When additional info was needed the App/ messages &/or customer service guided me and told me this is the fastest way to get documentation to Aflac’s claims department even before he is discharged. Best of all, I did it by his bedside, great peace of mind for us both knowing he will be in the hospital for many more days to come.

This app is by FAR one of the worst that I have tried to use! Let me start by saying that I love Aflac. They have been extremely helpful to my family in a time of difficulty. Everything about our policies have been 100% as advertised, and our local rep is outstanding! HOWEVER, this app is horrible. I cannot read messages that I get about our claims. It will receive notifications that we have a message, but it will not open those messages. It keep saying “Oops, something went wrong” and to please try again or refresh the app. I have refreshed, deleted the app and reloaded to my phone, everything that I know to do...with no luck. This has happen multiple times over the last three months. I always end up going to my computer to read the messages. Filing a claim from my phone is impossible, yet from my computer, it is simple. Aflac is a great supplemental insurance company, but this app is bad. Maybe you’ll have better luck than I do with this one. Two stars only because of how helpful my agent is, and how quickly claims are paid (once you are able to file).

Do not get individual coverage we paid for that insurance with Aflac for 7 years . My husband then HAD AN ACCIDENT off work on our property ( no worries right? We have Aflac) and required back surgery and time off work. Aflac kept trying to make it work related so workman’s comp would pay . It didn’t happen at work! I provided every single note from all doctors/ surgeon whom told Aflac it was an injury due to accident AT HOME . This company denied our coverage! We have spoken to 20 plus employees at my husband company who also have Aflac and out of those 20 .. 10 have filed claims and 10 have been denied!! Aflac is not on your side!! It IS NOT a safety net to give you peace of mind!! We paid in over $7500 over 7 years and they did NOT help us pay one bill , not one!! I feel terribly taken advantage of by Aflac. We trusted them .Had we put our $7500 aside in the bank instead of trusting this Aflac to be there .. we wouldn’t be on the verge of loosing our home/ land our utilities would be paid. THEY ARE NOT THERE FOR YOU WHEN YOUR HURT AND NEED THEM THE MOST !!

I love Aflac as a company and would recommend them to anyone for supplemental insurance and life insurance. My agent is also top notch, she goes out of the way to help. With that being said, in today’s technological age, you would think the company would be able to have an app that works without errors. I have had this app downloaded for months. I attempted to use it not long after getting it, but it didn’t work. I tried again tonight, months later, thinking they must have fixed the problems. The app itself says it was updated for bugs, etc. about 9 months ago. Apparently, the didn’t fix much. I got an error three times in a row tonight trying to use it. It kept saying it needed to reload and other errors. Great company. Horrible application! That’s why it’s only getting three stars.
