MOPO AR - Time travel Hamburg

Hamburg is full of history and the archive of the Hamburger Morgenpost is full of photos. The APP is intended to encourage Hamburg residents as well as tourists to discover Hamburg interactively. Always new tours should thematically show the historical Hamburg. We start in St. Pauli, the heart of Hamburg, other parts of the city will follow. We want to use augmented reality to show historical content of the city in the places where it happened. This makes it possible to explore the city self-guided with the App, thereby gaining insights into locations and streets that lie long in the past. Hamburger Morgenpost, MOPO for short, is Hamburg's leading media brand. The printed edition has been published daily since 1949. We appreciate your feedback and your review. HOW DOES THE APP WORK? Along the Reeperbahn and the Große Freiheit in Hamburg's St.Pauli district, time travel moments are placed everywhere. Open the app and simply scan your surroundings with your camera. QR codes or markers? You don't need them! Thanks to the latest augmented reality technology, the app recognises exactly where you are and shows you location-based historical content at the exact place where it was recorded at the time. MOPO AR uses augmented reality to merge the present with the past. So that you don't lose the overview or even miss a station, a minimap shows you where the individual stations of the tour are located and a virtual road leads you directly to them. If you find a station particularly cool, share your experience with a mixie - the built-in photo function allows you to take selfies directly during the time travel and share them with friends and family. WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT? WHAT EXACTLY IS AUGMENTED REALITY, AR? Augmented reality means extended reality. With AR it is possible to position historical pictures together with an audio track in real space and real time in order to combine the present with the past. All you need for it is your smartphone and headphones. TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS Download the App preferably before you visit the city. On site more pictures and the audio track will be downloaded. Please mind your sufficient mobile data volume. We recommend the latest iOS version. LEGAL BASIS DATA PROCESSING The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e) DS-GVO. In accordance to this directive data processing is permitted without formal consent of data subject (see Art. 7 du 8 DS-GVO), [...] for the performance of the tasks carried out in the [...] public interest.
