I started out fine with Moneyspire. But then it got progressively worse. Here are several problems:
1. There is no help. This is a huge problem. No live help, no tech support phone number. Just email, and if you hear back in a week you are one of the lucky ones.
2. Reconciling. This is where I needed help. The format is a disaster. (I've been using Quicken and MS money for years, so I know how to reconcile). If you need to add in a forgotten transaction while reconciling, it disappears and does not subtract the amount. If you postpone reconciling (to go find the lost transaction) you have to re-enter your date and balance info EVERY TIME you return to reconciling. When the account does finally balance, it does not offer an option to "pay bill now" (if it's a credit card). You have to go and enter that separately. I get hives every month when it is bill reconcile time on Moneyspire.
3. No fingerprint sign-in on the app. This one should be a no-brainer. Nope. You have to punch in your PW every time. It won't even remember it for you.
There is one thing I like about this app, but it's not enough to up my rating to 2 stars. I like having the phone app linked to my account so that I can enter receipts on the fly. Great. But if I need to split the categories, it cannot be done on my phone. But at least they have fixed the synching problem.
If my issues get resolved, I will come back and change my rating. But in the meantime,
I am shopping for a new program.
**UPDATE
Moneyspire is no longer working on my iPhone since updating to iOS 13. I sign on and try to add a transaction, and it kicks me out of the app every time. I sent them a message four days ago and have heard nothing besides an automated message. There goes the ONLY reason I was still using Moneyspire... the ability to enter transactions on the go.
