Money Dashboard Classic

I’ve used this for about a week now, and I’m really liking it! It’s great and simple, there’s not too much to do, it’s not complicated to do, and you have freedom to set your own budgets. It clearly shows you what transactions are listed under each category, and you can change it yourself with a few quick taps if it’s wrong or have a different preference! I love that you can add your own tags that makes it really custom for me who likes to categorise more thoroughly to find out exactly where I may need cut backs 🤫 My only little tweaks needed are that it takes so long for it to update with the latest transactions, so it’s a little inaccurate there but then again no one should be using this as a bank checker, this is a budgeting tool not a bank account :) I'm just a little impatient 🙄 You should consider, if not already, using ‘open banking’ for data sharing as this isn’t mentioned in the description if you use this technology or not? Fantastic app for me, can’t wait to continue to use it to help my finances and cut back unnecessary spends!

I have been hugely impressed with the functionality of this banking dashboard which provides me with an extremely helpful high level breakdown of my funds in their corresponding current accounts. This app also allows me to assign particular items to a colour coded and designated list e.g. my mortgage payments can be kept in a separate category from my public transport and dining costs. The app is extremely well laid out and the graphical user interface is very easy to navigate. I also particularly like the view of my current months spending which can then be compared with the previous month’s financial transactions so that I can ensure that I am always able to keep on top of my outgoings. The summary of my outgoings for the current month and the previous month are easy to see thanks to an entirely separate page that itemises all these expenditures. I no longer have to rely on documenting my receipts in a spreadsheet thanks to this brilliant tool.

I’ve been using money dashboard for several months and was an early adopter. I find it excellent - once the security has been setup for the various bank and system feeds the information flows in accurately and freely. Sometimes it takes a little time for the figures to appear from the more mainstream banks (RBS etc.) (usually two days or so) when I asked them why they explained that due to the way banks sometimes process transfers they allow a few days for the real transactions to be finalised - that’s the banks fault not Money Dashboards, other more immediate banks like Monzo they appear really quickly - not quite real time but close. They are building more connections to other banking and financial services rapidly and also regardless of that you can enter your own - most useful for those systems not connected - such as company pensions and other savings / investments. Overall the best financial aggregation application available

I’ve been an obsessive user of spreadsheets to track my spending so thought this might be a better, less time consuming alternative. Love the interface, signing up was easy and the display sort of shows what I need to know. But the lack of flexibility around the tags is a dealbreaker for me. Once created, tags can’t be removed - not great if you’ve messed up on your first day using the app. I’d also want to be able to reduce the number of tags I see in the selection box, and to be able reorganise the preset tags (for example, I don’t view a sandwich bought for lunch at work as ‘enjoyment’ but as part of my general household food costs). It can’t seem to distinguish when there’s more than one payment made to the same company but for different amounts. For example, my mortgage and my credit card company are the same, with different references and amounts, but it IDs both payments as mortgage. A filter specifying the different payment amounts isn’t available. So I’m going back to spreadsheets for now but might try again later.

The concept is good and the design easy to navigate with good dashboards. An excellent feature is that your budgets can be set to run from a particular date on the month (payday?!) which is not a feature in some other apps of this kind. However, the functionality of the budget depends on the tagging system (which in my view is an unnecessary layer of depth anyway) and this is very clunky. The app automatically tags transactions, which would be a helpful timesaver if you could amend those tags. Apparently you can but that functionality just simply doesn’t work. I re tag, go back to transactions and nothing has changed. Equally, I add new tags but the list doesn’t update or I receive an error message saying a tag with that name already exists. This could be a great app but at the moment it feels like the effort has gone on design and visuals (good start) but the functionality testing remains outstanding. I deleted my account. Come back to me guys when you have a fully functional app and I’ll happily retry.
