Mobility for Jira (for iPad)

We use OnDemand. This app works well, it crashes when originally accessing the Agile board, but for basic issue lookup and editing it works well. It keeps me able to support our products from only my iPad.

I'm running an experiment at my company where I don't have a laptop, only an iPad Pro, to see if it can be a true laptop replacement. For a lot of tasks it's just fine, even for some of the detailed design work that I do. But I use JIRA extensively and that's primarily where it breaks down. Atlassian's mobile answers are terrible so I was hopeful about this app. Unfortunately it's got a long way to go. To begin, it just looks like an expanded iPhone UI. There's a lot of wasted space in the design and it's obvious it's just an up sized port. It would be nice if there was actually an answer for the iPad user for JIRA. Second, a lot of the simplification is over-simplification that renders important parts of the app to be unusable. For example, I do my searches using the JIRA language and there's no option I can find to do that when searching. Then when you have results, you can't customize the columns or sort by columns. There are other issues that come up here and there but I think it would be best solved by an effort to design a purpose built UI with more robust feature support for the iPad.

I feel sad giving in three stars because it's so close to being a 5 star app. The major bug is with the uploading of photos. It frequently times out and without a status bar you have to patiently wait for it to work, or give a "time out" message. If you don't need the photo option, this app is an easy 5 star app as it works very smoothly with JIRA and has a ton of well functioning features.

I love that this app exists! While the user interface is a bit clunky, it's a vast improvement over the craptastic Jira web interface. Performance seems to be much faster than the hosted Jira webapp, too. I would rate this 4 or 5 stars but it keeps crashing on me. Poof! It's gone! The crashes don't seem to prevent saving my last action, but I do have to repeatedly restart the app. My hope is that a maintenance release will fix the stability.

Had high hopes for this app, since we use agile boards a great deal. However on agile boards, no spinner indicates loading is happening, and it lags out and crashes when there are many tickets... It makes it impossible to drag and drop tickets as well. It would probably be great for a few tickets, but when you have a hundred or more in the display it is unusable as an agile tool. Hope these issues can be fixed, because then it'd be a great tool!
