Needs better explanations of attack ranges and abilities. In one case range 2 seems to me move 2 and in another, you attack two units in a line. If you don't explain on card, have a reference page somewhere. You also can't tap and hold to see ability of a character that already acted that turn which makes it difficult to plan. After a few games I still don't know why I lost on 2nd turn when a zombie I spawned the turn before got killed. What is win condition and where is that explained? No explanation at all as to what appears to be a unit purchase screen. Buttons aren't labeled so you don't know what they do. I get minimalism, and I love it, but this game sacrifices serious function for little gain in form. Get over this fetish for lack of text and make the dashboard thing more user friendly and intelligible.

Great game. I like that it is not a pay-to-win CCG like most of the other card/board hybrid games nowadays. In-depth strategy while still a quick, fun play. Biggest flaw is the AI is not very strong. I have seen on multiple games the AI miss game-winning moves. Sometimes it does not seem to recognize that it can kill your "king" and so it just does another attack move instead. I feel like this should be able to be fixed. Minor flaws include a lack of instructions as others have mentioned. While the game can be figured out fairly quickly, why not include a tutorial or instructions? Also, I'm still fuzzy on why sometimes my attacks do less damage than I think they should. Others have mentioned RNG but I’ve played several dozen games at this point and while, yes, sometimes, you get a bad hand I don’t find I lose games to bad luck that often. (It does happen.) Normally I can retreat and play defensively until the card draws turn to my favor.

Wow, talk about more than meets the eye! I wasn’t expecting much but the gameplay is surprisingly deep and very addictive. If you don’t watch the clock, you can spend 3 hours playing it and not realize how much time has gone by (guilty as charged). The gameplay is very easy to pick up with a nice learning curve, but the challenge becomes very difficult in the later levels (I still can’t get past level 6. I docked the rating by 1 star because, as some other reviewers have mentioned, it becomes unfair how the CPU player gets more cards than you at higher levels and you have to restart the game ladder at the bottom every time you lose. A couple other revisions that would be nice is multiplayer (local and on-line) and for the enemy team’s leader to have a unique colored base (instead of red as all of the other enemy bases).

This game heavily favors RNG mechanics over skill based gameplay. You can be given cards to start the match that make no sense at all and no matter how much skill you have the opponent AI is dealt a much more powerful deck. Some cards don’t make sense at all either. For example some cards in the game have a range of 3 (can hit you from the complete other side of the board) and can move before attacking, yet the catapult is unable to be moved but only has a range of 2. Some of the heroes you must defeat in the game, unless I am doing something vey wrong, are unable to be beaten. The one that comes to mind is an archer with a range of 3 that ends the game in two turns because he can move before attacking. So in theory this hero can shadow you and shoot your hero no matter what you do. This game could be great if some simple balancing issues were fixed. However as it stands this game feels incomplete and mediocre.

First and foremost, I have been playing this for 3 days and it is a great game. The art work is fantastic, the "learn as you play" game style is refreshingly different, and the "beat it all in one go or start over" adds a challengingly element that most games don’t have anymore. It’s phenomenal. So don’t let other people who are complaining about no instructions and saying getting coins to buy characters is hard, cause it’s not. The only reason I gave this game 4 stars and not 5 is because it needs more levels and a multiplayer element. Also it would be nice to have more cards and more characters. (The random card drawing when your playing and the cards you choose to appear more frequent when you when each level is a great touch!)
