MIDI Recorder with E.Piano

I am learning to play drum on a Yamaha D55 drum pad kit. I need to record my music and compare to a professional drummer’s play. I don’t want to just record with an external mic as it picks up all the thumping noise from when the drum sticks hit the drum pads. You know, on a real drum kit, you won’t have the artificial thumping sound. This nice app, along with a midi-in/out to usb cable, allows me to record on my iPhone. One little kink that took me while to figure out: as I am naive to midi, the recorded midi file has to be channeled back to my Yamaha drum kit and the recorded music would come out of the drum kit speakers. The recorded midi music would not come out of my iPhone’s speakers.

First of all, thanks for such a great little app and for making it free! Could you look into adding a mute switch to the internal synth? I’d love to quickly capture a midi file but it would be nice to be able to mute the synth since it has to be enabled for the app to work in the background. Also, could you please allow for separate midi files to be created per midi channel? So as to be able to create a multitrack midi file? I’d like to load it afterwards to Cubasis for further editing, Thanks! MM4C

I find this very useful it does what it suppose to do with no problems. Easy to use and free. What can you ask more. Thank you very much. I hope that you’ll continue updating this app.

This is a useful app, and will most likley use it with my Nektar SE49. The only reason why I give it 4 is because the lack of instruments. I dont need like 20, but 5 could do. I’d like a piano sound too. Overall, great app!

Really loving the FM sound you added! Could you please add a repeat or loop funtion/button? It would be nice to be able to record something on the fly and leave it looping. You could later add a playlist function so it continues playing other midi songs one has made or other midi’s one could import. Keep up the great work!
