Marvel - Design and Prototype

I love this app - really easy to use. I’m currently working on creating an interactive PDF (web and ios) for a new app I’m going to be delivering training on and it’s proving incredibly successful. I guess the one thing that’s missing for me is the ability to add a screen scrolling feature, particularly for ios where you may have a scrolling screen in “real life”. Otherwise, it’s fab!

For what it can do it’s a great app. I’m truly a novice when it comes to prototyping and ‘wire framing’ but this app helps me get into it and start working I know what I’m doing and not a complete beginner. I will say though the syncing isn’t great going from app to online version and back - could be down to my internet but doubt it. So have patience lol Still it’s get to start, and how much you can do with it it’s great, but best of all it’s free 😱 love it. Also I want to add that the vid doesn’t do it justice, if you aren’t good at sketching that’s fine because you can add real images, icons, and write your own text within the app. There’s also the ability to add a status bar, sign in screen etc. Literally it’s great! Get it!

I started using the app and everything was fine. My prototype was easy to step up and working as expected when I played. However, the moment I created an account in order to save my work and share it everything messes up. My links were either not working anymore or going to the wrong screens. I tried starting all over again but every time I played it some of the the navigation effects kept getting messed up or defaulting to “none” even though I had selected an effect. This is really frustrating as it was perfectly fine before I decided to create an account. Also I keep getting an error message saying “unable to send email” (or something like that) whenever I try to send a bug report. Please fix this.

I use Marvel in conjunction with Sketch. I find it occasionally a tad limited in terms of how much of the sketch prototyping features it can sync across (it does do hotspots, gestures and art boards but doesn’t automatically do things like fixed scroll). However, that said it is absolutely BRILLIANT at beating able to sync and then demo potential designs offline. The rate and slickness at which you can do customer development or investor presentations is unparalleled. Definitely recommended.

One of the units I am taking at university requires me to create high fidelity prototypes, one of which must be mobile. Marvel gives me all the tools I need to create a simple prototype. Very easy to use and the prototypes look quite realistic. This app is great because it allows you to test your prototype on a real smartphone. Sure it doesn’t feel like a real app but it’s very good for testing purposes.
