Manchester Metrolink

I’m a Brit living in Finland who visits uk to see family. I use an app called HSL in Helsinki. It’s brilliant allows start and end destinations as addresses or postcodes. Calcs. your route including walking or tram or train. Perfect. And it allows you to buy tickets, please review as a benchmark. This app is ok. But you need to use a different app to pay. You also need knowledge of the stop you need. You cannot even put a postcode of your destination you need google maps to figure that out. So to make a journey I needed 3 apps. Not great. Please take a look at HSL. 😄😄👍🏻

Metrolink has improved in leaps and bounds these last few years, but the app simply hasn't. Yes, it works for the very basics. However, Google Maps can give Live Times for station arrivals. This app cannot. The only changes this app ever sees, are with the maps. To improve: add push notifications for service changes; location services for relevant information about nearby stops; add live arrival times; add first and last tram times; integrate ticket purchasing into the app. There is so much missing from this app. TfGM need to pull their socks up! Edit Feb 2018: This app has come on in leaps and bounds since my last review. Live tram info integrated, navigation tools, network status...thank you for this! 🙂 The addition of push notifications would make it a 5-star winner!

Had this app for a while and loved it as I know when I had to leave the house, however after the last update it seems to have stopped updating live times. So I put my station in let’s say exchange square and it will say the met is due in 5mins and it will stay like that non of the live times will update. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling but to no avail. Don’t like giving a low rating but it just doesn’t work.

Absolutely useless, I entered the tram stop that I want to travel from but when I entered the tram stop That I want to alight from, nothing happens so I will have to walk to the tram stop to find out how much it will cost for my ticket. I could have done that anyway without first wasting time downloading this useless app. And another thing why doesn’t it introduce the Metrolink app as for America because that was what I downloaded first until after waiting for it to download I then saw that it was for trams in California. You don’t half take the P. I really shouldn’t even give it one star.

This app has become super useful now that I can see live times! I live near a tram stop, and now I don’t even need to go outside to see when the next tram is here! Just checked and the live times are accurate! Update: would prefer it if doubles were indicated like “dbl 1min” like they are on the actual time screens.
