Great for setting temperatures for multiple zones... unless you have zones with vastly different heating/cooling needs. The app doesn’t facilitate switching back and forth between zones to keep all zones as close to desired temp as possible (can’t heat and cool at the same time). Our basement is always cold, and when kumo switches to heating down there, it wont check any other zones for cooling needs until the basement reaches the goal temp. By the time the basement reaches the set temperature, we’re upstairs cooking at 10 degrees over the set temperature. Ideally the app would be able to re-evaluate every 20 minutes and pivot to address the zone(s) that are farthest from the desired temperature.

Lacks some of the unit features of the remote, such as the quiet fan speed, sleep, HyperHeat, econo-cool, and auto mode. I tried to file a bug report online with Mitsubishi and they told me to call the support number. 45 minutes on hold later, they said, "Yeah, you just lose some features with Kumo Cloud." Slow to connect to multi-zone units. You have to kill the app to connect often times. Often it takes a minute or two, so it's easier to just walk over to the remote. The back button is occluded in the top left on my iPhone Xs. UX design is poor overall. They should hire a competent app developer to redesign the app.

The app does a decent job for the most basic functions. But it’s frequently glitchy — for example, showing zones as offline for a few seconds before correcting. I’ve also changed temperatures at points only to find out later that the changes didn’t actually register, despite the app indicating that they had. There’s no way to easily confirm that a command actually reached a unit. Ideally it would include more functionality, particularly the ability to set timers and not just schedules.

My main objective in installing the app was to set the temp and turn on/off the unit remotely while I was away. For this, the app worked great with no issue. But be prepared to be disappointed if you expect more out of this app. The temp sensor was not accurate and high temp sensor notifications kept popping up even though the notifications were turned off in the setting. It’s not critical but more of annoyance to see the notifications kept popping up on my phone.

App works, moving around is clunky especially on newer iPhones, bottom and top areas don’t account for notch and swipe gesture indicator. Could just use some UX love and small updates to make it feel more premium like the Mitsubishi HVAC product itself. Overall, it works and does the job when I’m laying on the couch or away from home.
