I can’t believe that an international car company could come up with a suite of apps so poor. So little effort has gone into the design, they all leave much to be desired. The quality control is very poor, and still around three years after initial release, they all often fail to fulfil their basic function. This could be overlooked to some extent if the Jaguar in-car entertainment systems were great, but unfortunately they are pretty shocking too. These days this stuff is important, and given what I now know, it would put me off buying the car. This particular app does not work, it is not even clear how it should be used and it crashes with impunity. Sort it out JLR, it would take a decent App developer a matter of hours to come up with something infinitely better.

This app works really well with my iPace. Had it for 5 months and so far no issues with losing the car as others have reported. Two things need addressing though. The app has none of the EV elements incorporated into it meaning that you cannot plan your charging stops using this app. It shows petrol stations which are no use to me! Also, the map database is not the same as the one in the car satnav. My home street is displayed in the car map but not in the route planner app! Surely they should both have the same maps in them! However, it’s a great tool and allows planning of routes with multiple waypoints which automatically sync with the car. Just needs some work for EV support.

If you download this app I suspect you already have a Jaguar, in which case it’s too late you are stuck with it. The app has an attractive and professional looking UI but that is where the good points end. The app has never worked for me. Doesn’t know where my car is. Unable to hand over journey from phone to car successfully. It is not clear how the app should be used you have to dig hard to find any instructions or tutorial etc. Adding waypoints is not clear. The list goes on. Please fix this app Jaguar.

The Jaguar InControl system just has too many apps and none of them seem to fully cooperate. The route planner is generally sound, but I don't understand why it needs a different password for the app than the Web version. My biggest bug bear though is the use of route options - WARNING - they do NOT work! I recently had to plan a route to West London from Essex and specifically excluded toll roads, Pre-pay roads etc........ yet I was routed straight through the congestion zone and then had to work out how to pay the charge. For goodness sake, get it sorted! You are a premium car manufacturer after all.

This App is fantastic when it knows your car is next to you as, you can then plan a journey on your phone from the comfort of your home. Unfortunately, even though the car is in your drive, the App rarely shows its current location correctly, so when you plan a route it will show a walk to the last recorded position of your car. As I write this I am in Woking sitting in the car and the App says the car is at Heathrow!! The Remote App always shows the car position correctly - so why can’t this?
