It says the app is compatible with iPhone 6s but all of a sudden it stopped working and it says incompatible due to NPCI regualtions. However other UPI apps such as SBI is absolutely working fine. Being HSBC a premier bank it needs to improve this app a lot as there is no IMPS option in internet banking and this is the only way instant transfer can be done.

The setup process is so cumbersome, annoying and time consuming. It requires Location access — no way I’m going to risk myself because HSBC can’t develop an app without asking for sensitive information. For some so called “security” reason, it requires you to not use WiFi during setup and needs data to be turned on. Next, you can’t switch to another app during registration to lookup any information. If you do, then the app forces you to send a fresh SMS again. Once you cross these hurdles, you have to fight the Register button, which does nothing when tapped even after you’ve selected the default account. It’s 2020 — which security expert advised your team to use Security Questions and Answers? That’s the best way to expose your customers to hacks and frauds! Overall, this app is an exercise in bad user experiences and even worse security. Better use some other bank’s app for UPI.

Another useless app, since day 1 its asking to accept the mobile number to be registered but when I do that the message goes off to some mobile number and nothing happens later. Every time when I click on that app the same message appears and when I accept same message goes to that number and blank white screen appears. I informed this to the customer care but no response till now. Looks like the bank is least bothered about their mobile applications 🙁

I kept on trying to use the app but it didn't work out..... One fine morning I deleted the app and installed it again.....have all the permissions it needed & tried again.....the application started working..... Created my UPI ID 😄😄

Few things in life stay constant. This app is standing tall as a testament to this statement. Since the day of its launch till now, crossing major software updates, this app has retained its value as a worthless software. Why do I call it worthless? Because it doesn’t launch. You see a white blank screen, that’s it. Maybe if you look closer, you would see HSBC frantically trying to crawl through their ineffective and shameful digital presence.
