Hourly

I didn't want a lot of bells and whistles (so to speak), just and hourly reminding. And I was really happy to find this simple app. Hope dvlprs aren't discouraged by previous one bad review. The wristwatch beep is my choice, the others are a little to load, long or call attention to themselves IMHO. Would be five stars if there were choices with volume. Ironically, the wrist watch alarm is precisely what I was looking for and the only one that's TOO quiet and subtle. Perhaps a Wrist Watch Beep 2.0? Another BIG PLUS, this is the first app I've seen that doesn't interrupt begging for reviews. It even states it will not interrupt asking for ratings. Wow! That alone almost makes it 5 star worthy!

I have been using the app for years and couldn’t live without it. I have problems keeping track of time and having my phone speak the time every hour is so helpful. Also it is so funny seeing people’s faces when my phone announces the time!

I tried this app because it supports intervals other than the standard 15, 30, and 60 minutes — personally, I prefer 90 minutes, so thank you for making that possible. However, for some reason, the notifications basically stop working after each time I silence my phone. At least, this is how it seems. Un-silencing the phone never seems to un-silence this app. This is an awful bug. Also, it seems buggy when I want to keep the sound notifications on but turn the visual notifications off. I don’t want to have to clear notifications, I just want my phone to beep every 90 minutes, end of story.

I like Hourly - mainly because it is the first hourly chime app I have found that, on my Apple Watch, creates a notification that shows both current time and the alarm time. (I almost missed an appointment because Apple’s default alarms show only the alarm time. I had not dismissed the notification, and thought I was looking at the current time.) I am uncertain about whether Hourly works on the watch when the phone is distant or separated. What I really want is an hourly chime that runs standalone on the watch, but where a phone app provides easy configuration. I.e. phone optional. Hourly requests cell phone data access by default, which is a security concern. I have disabled, and will see what breaks. BUG: Hourly is currently displaying its text message twice on my watch. Hourly only chimes on hour and half hour. E.g. cannot set a chime at 5 minutes before the hour, which is what I prefer.

The feedback link in the app does not work. Further, the developer responded to a review asking for the ability to customize the chime schedule by day of week, saying that it had been implemented, but it clearly is not. The developer responds to people’s complaints saying to send feedback, but its impossible because the link doesn't work (and there is no website when I try to reach them through the app store in “App Support”).
