Gun Log SPC

I’ve been looking for a way to securely keep track of my gun inventory and to record my range sessions electronically. I tried a different app, but it had a monthly service fee and I was concerned that they appeared to have access to my personal information. This app does that and so much more without the need to access my data. It also has so many features it’s gonna take me a while to figure it all out. Being a new user with two hours experience, I was confused on a couple of issues and dropped an email to the developer. Let me just some up what I think of their customer service. Superb! Very timely response and clear resolutions to my questions. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is it is not seamless across multiple devices. The database has to be backed up and moved via iTunes. I understand they tried this in the past and had some technical difficulties. I hope they’ll figure out a way to include this capability in a future release. But even without that feature, it’s still a very usable, well constructed app.

I was really excited when I found this app. I have been using paper logs and Excel worksheets to inventory firearms, track costs and log shooting sessions but with this app I found everything I needed in one place. The app is very detailed in capturing all kinds of information about firearms ammunition and accessories and also allows you to capture images… I did find that I was a little limited when it comes to the images. You can store up to for images per firearm right now and I did find that a little limiting for what I wanted to do but that is a small thing when compared to the big picture and functionality of this app. I haven't used the reports yet but they seem very robust and full-featured… I could probably use a few more for tracking total costs in firearms and ammunition but those are things that can be added in the future. Overall a great product and I look forward to using it more!

Was using another app forever but the developer gave up on and was no longer updating, but it was familiar and I am one old stubborn S. O. B. I just got the new iPhone and the old app just wouldn’t expand and fill the whole screen so enough was enough. None of the current log apps looked like what I had so it was a tough choice but I LOVED the fact that this doesn’t back up to a cloud. So this was the choice, at first I thought this app was going to be/do to much but boy was I wrong! This app does just enough to help balance what I do with my personal firearms. The one thing I wish that I could do with the app that you might be able to do I just haven’t found it yet is also print out the log book side of it just as a back up to my back up to my back up...again I am old and still find usefulness in paper.

I've been using Gun Log SPC for about four months and found is is an excellent tool to inventory my guns and ammo and to track range sessions. It has taken me a few months of use to figure out how to use everything this app has to offer. I would recommend this app to anyone who owns a gun or likes to shoot. Thanks for making this app. There are a few features I'd like to see: 1) Most gun makers have their gun manuals online. I add these http links in the notes to quickly reference the manual as necessary. Is it possible to enable http links or add a new field so that I can just click the link versus having to copy and then paste into Firefox? 2) My wife and I shoot often, sharing guns and ammo. Can a new field be added to track different shooters during the same range session? It would be nice to track both on one device and to filter by each user. 3) When I open the app and select "ammo," the display defaults to "All." Is it possible to edit so that I can select " On hand" and have it stay selected next time I reopen the app? (Basically have the buttons default to the last selected state.)

Awesome App! These guys did a great job with this app, it has everything I was looking for in a firearm & accessory inventory app! You can store not only your firearms, but all the accessories you have put on them along with the serial #'s, cost and purchase dates. When and what type of cleaning and maintenance you have done on each firearm. Also store all of your Ammo you purchase or reload and make records of shooting sessions with any firearm with any Ammo you have saved, input atmospherics and location of shooting sessions along with target info! F N awesome! Keep up the good work. Anyone looking for firearm app, definitely take a look at this one.
