Game Informer

It works great! The only reason I give it 4/5 stars is that, like some others here, I do not want videos to play on their own without my decision to hit play. I want to be able to read this like a print edition, without wasting paper or having to keep old issues lying around taking up space. What I do not want is a magazine acting like a tv channel. Except for this nuisance, I really find this app to be quite useable. That being said, I have read a few reviews claiming that you cannot go back to your Library of game informer issues without deleting the app and redownloading. This is not true. Simply touch and hold on any page of the issue you are reading, and the menu to go anywhere you want will appear at the bottom. Perhaps this app should come with instructions. Perhaps not. It's a little exaggerating that someone would give it 2/5 stars only because of this. But here's to hoping someone reads this review and finds it helpful.

I like game informer the magazine but this digital format is very boring to read. I think layout is very important to draw the eyes around. This setup is like a 13 year old using microsoft word made it. Makes me want to skip even the articles I really want to read. GI should just upload a pdf version of their printed GI. I regret not getting the printed version.

I think that as with other apps in the app store, people don't take the time to read the directions on use. I find this app to be just the way it should be. You just have to read the tutorial provided in the app to learn how to navigate through their well designed app. Sure it's not perfect, but it's free (with your GameStop or EB games subscription that you already paid for unless you made the in app purchase which would be silly because it's cheaper in the store). Anyway, I would be curious if the people saying that it doesn't load properly are trying to use it in portrait mode, because it only works in landscape. Landscape is fantastic for me! No you don't get the feel of it being a magazine, but you are on an iPad you are suppose to "Think Different"! If you are having a problem with it loading improper, try uninstall and reinstall. Nothing is perfect and who knows maybe it didn't install right. But for you non tech savvy people find someone who is and exhaust all troubleshooting before you write a one star review. Hate to say it but in most cases, it seems like user error or the inability to read and follow directions. I was going to make this a 4 star, but I just changed it to five stars! I love the idea of the app but there are way too many bugs for me to remotely enjoy using it. A lot of reviews say they can't back out of a issue, which I've never had any problems with (just press and hold on the middle of a page and it will give you the option to back out), but I've had major problems with things as simple as turning pages. I will turn the page and it will get stuck half way and it won't let me continue turning or reading. I have to turn back a page and go forward again about 4/5 times before it skips the page I want to goto and then I can back into the page in order to read it. Also the purchase and other links at the problem are generally buggy. It won't actually launch the site but instead, it will just sit there and act like I never pressed it. Also the biggest issue I have is that I can't load some issues that are in my library. I have a subscription, and yet it won't let me read the issue unless I spend $5 to buy it individually. I am currently having that issue with my monster hunter world December 2017 issue. If you have the choice to get the physical copy, do that instead. The app has been broken forever and a day and no one's doing anything to fix issues that have been around since the app launched.
