The Future Proofing App is a six week challenge for people taking part in the Future Proofing Study being run the Black Dog Institute. If you’re registered with the study, the app will guide you to complete a range of games and tasks designed to measure your mood and your brain. If you’ve opted in, the app will also collect information from your phone’s sensors about your location and movement. We are asking young people to join the app challenge because researchers think that things like physical activity, voice changes, sleep, and how often people move between different places might be related to changes in mental health. Collecting this information will help the researchers work out ways to detect mental health problems early. For the most part, the app will run in the background and you will only need to use it occasionally to complete the games and mood ratings.
