FireBoard®

Update: With the purchase of a fan and the recent app updates, I am even more pleased with this system. The integrated fan control is great, the app changes with pit temp changes based on food temp allow for automating what I previously did manually. Original: 5 stars to Fireboard on superbly designed temperature monitor system. I believe it leads the pack with 6 probes. The range settings, graph capability, accuracy, alerts, probe labeling, and dual ability of blue tooth or WIFI make for a super system for any one who smokes or barbecues food. The blue tooth range is better than any I have used. The app allows for all kinds of variety to suit your needs.

I just got a Fireboars for Christmas and love it so far. My father in law asked me to to a Prime rib on his Weber Genesis. The temperature control on those is pretty finicky, and the ambient temperature probe made it a lot easier to dial it in. I’m glad FireBoard put in the time and effort to make a great thermometer AND app. A lot of companies focus on just one aspect. The only tweak I would love to see is the ability to add time specific notes. Maybe a hard press on the time graph to pull up a note, “we did xyz at this time stamp” I think that would make the usage of the app for future cooks a lot easier and enjoyable.

This app is great! This controller is awesome! I picked this one over the others because you get a cloud account to check/adjust temp from anywhere with an Internet connection. You can save cooking sessions in your cloud account too. It runs on battery or plugged in. You have a food & grate thermometer as well as the ability to control your fire temp with the drive cable connected to a fan with an adaptor. I’m so happy I made this purchase. I cooked all summer with it and it never let me down. It stays connected to my WiFi 65ft away through a few walls. I love it!

FireBoard encompasses all a data geek like myself could ever hope for in one easy to use interface. They are continually improving their product and adding additional features and functions. If you want the ultimate in peace of mind, dead nuts temp accuracy and ability to control a stick burner temp then get the FireBoard. Their customer service is the best. Great folks who are continually improving their product offerings. Can’t say enough great things about them!

I really like this thermometer. It has a great user interface that is easy to navigate after a few minutes of using it. Suggestions: I wish the App would have a way to add notes. I really like to journal my curing and smoking sessions to record food prep data for curing time such as seasonings or marinades used, fuel source, and weather, and last but not least, comment on the results. Another addition would be to enable adding user comments to the temperature charts. It looks like FireBoard has left the possibilities open to expand with the data port on the side of the thermometer so I am excited to see what is to come!!!
