Empath

This is a good app, it’s cool to be able to vent about your feelings and have that comfort of other people out in the world being able to empathize with you and understand how you’re feeling/what you’re going though. It does a good job in letting you choose how you are feeling. A few complaints I have with the app though, is how it’s suppose to be anonymous but has the option for strangers to text you. I mean you can choose the option to open up to people if you want and that’s when it gives them the ability to contact you but I’m not a huge fan of that, I just think it’s a little weird for lack of a better word. Also the app tends to crash for me, I don’t know about others though. I would also like to see some more options to choose from when you choose how you’re feeling. Just a few more like anxious, numb, etc. Other than that I think it’s a good app, I know it has helped me to talk about my thoughts and feelings instead of just bottling them up. 3/5 stars

I really have been finding a good support group using this app, being able to vent and have people be there for you is nice sometimes. I think this app has a nice layout and potential but has some issues. It crashes occasionally, nothing really regarding settings of the app, or changing current settings, I think a tutorial for the different tabs would be a good touch, because there are some features I don’t quite understand. Also people can contact you if you have your phone number with the app, which caught me off guard because I forgot about that. Overall the issues with I have with the app is just that it seems not organized or informative. Otherwise I think the app is headed in the right direction regarding support for people around the world who use the app. I’m looking forward to see improvement and will continue to use it.

This app is fairly decent in tracking emotions and seeing how people feel worldwide while still being anonymous. However, there are some things that need improving. The other reviews talk about people being able to text and call you, and I agree, it is kind of strange for an app that focuses on being anonymous. The settings should be more easily accessible, even though there aren’t many. There should be an option to remove your phone number if there isn’t already. Your name and picture can be changed easily, but trying to find anything else is more complicated. I think there should be a list of your friends. One of my best friends joined the app and friended me, but it says I have two friends and I would like to know who the other person is. The feelings have all the basic emotions, but could use some improvement. This is hard because it also shouldn’t be too complicated. I like the wheel with the different intensities of the feelings. Perhaps there should be an option for a hurt feeling or shocked or something. Overall, it’s a good app that I would recommend if you want to see a visual of your mental health a little bit.

I agree with everything from the other review. Some emotions like “pained” and whatever would be good. I like the community and being able to provide feedback to others on their emotions. I like to help others when I’m feeling down so I really like that aspect. I don’t like that there isn’t any chat functionality. When someone “opens up” it only allows me to text or call them. I think with this being an “anonymous” app, you should be able to message back and forth to someone—or at least be able to comment multiple times in the same emotion.

I have only had this app for a couple of days and I already lot. I really like the idea of having a daily emotion tracker. Some things I want to point out is I would like it to be simpler to access your settings.I really just want my profile to be private so no one can see what I’m feeling. I want to be able to use it for myself and not to publicize my emotions. Another thing I would like to notice is that it would be awesome if you could add more emotions to the wheel because it’s hard to fit certain feelings into the lines of which emotions you give us.
