Emerson Journal

This app looked beautiful from the outside. I downloaded it and tried it, as did my husband. Neither he or I can upload a photo as it says you can. And perhaps the most annoying thing is when you are writing, it does not automatically scroll down for you. You have to manually scroll down to see what you are writing. This is my first day to use the app, so I am wondering how it will show my previous entries. I can’t figure out as there is no navigation telling me how to see previous entries. It has a lot of potential! If they fix those two things, it will be a fantastic app!

This app is beautiful and the daily prompts are decent at getting the creative gears grinding. There are some usability issues that are frustrating my use of the app. First, there are times where I scroll through an entry (either a previous one or one in progress of being written) and rather than stopping at the point I scrolled to, the view snaps back to the top - or bottom, depending on where I started scrolling from. This is INCREDIBLY annoying. There are also times when I am writing an entry where I scroll up to make an edit and it scrolls just fine. Except that as soon as I attempt to place the typing the view it immediately scrolls back down to the bottom. I can still type and the text will go into the spot I intended. But I can’t see what is being added because the view is of the bottom of the entry. I love the intent and design of this app but the usability is SO frustrating at the two basic things it is supposed to do - edit entries and review them - that I can’t see myself continuing to use it unless they are resolved. I had no issue uploading photos as others have mentioned.

This app is great! I love that it’s an easy journaling app! Tho, why are the Prayer prompts solely Christian bible passages? It makes it hard for people of other faiths, like myself, to use those prompts. Maybe y’all could look into having an option to choose what religion the Prayer prompts are from.

The app looked perfect in the store - simple and visually appealing. Unfortunately, the functionality is awful and I did not manage to write even one complete sentence in my first entry before I decided to delete it. First issue, it does not automatically scroll down when navigating any of the pages. Second, the font in the actual journal is enormous with no option to reduce the size. Third, there are virtually no customizations available to tailor the journal to your own specific needs beyond choosing the cover of the journal. I think this app has a TON of potential but right now it just doesn’t function as it should.

...but I can’t I open it it’s stuck frozen...I don’t want to delete it and lose my data but I also don’t know why it’s not working I’m very frustrated... It’s very pretty but what’s up with the broken ness and lack of ability to troubleshoot etc. not sure what to do...and now I’m already behind on my routine
