I’m an almost graduated student who has used this app for four years. I’m happy to say I can finally uninstall it, as graduation is mere days away, and this review has been a long time coming. While the website itself is pretty good for managing grades, I find the app lacks in a few aspects. The basic premise is there, but certain aspects of the website are gone. For example, on desktop you can see a graph of all of the assignments in a class and how much they impact your grade, which would be much more convenient if I could access it on my phone. In addition, I have encountered a few small glitches in the app. If I tapped on a teacher’s profile through the course itself, it wouldn’t let me access it. I had to use the search feature to find the teacher, which was a pain. On a slightly different note, the messaging system could be greatly improved. It would be much easier if there was a method of receiving push notifications when you receive a message from a teacher, or if a large grade were posted, or if one of your grades has dropped significantly. I always found it hard to remember to check Edsby frequently, and push notifications would be a major help for students like me in future years. In conclusion, I’ve had a love hate relationship with this app over the years, but I’m finally ready to let go. I hope Edsby changes for the better so students in years to come have an easier time.

I’m just going to keep this review short and concise. The app is... somewhat usable with the exception of a few bugs and being exceptionally slow, however, what bugs me the most is the compatibility on the iPhone X. There are black bars on the top and bottom of the screen (suggesting poor compatibility with iPhone X and similar devices) and it’s excruciatingly annoying and an eye sore to look at. The website itself is great, (for the most part), however the app certainly isn’t. Usability is mediocre and the compatibility certainly isn’t the best either. I really hope that the team behind Edsby can work to improve the app sometime in the near future as they certainly have a lot going for themselves. But right now, although I understand it’s a requirement at most schools to download the app, I’d just stick to the website if possible.

I have a love hate relationship with the app as well as the platform in general. To turn on notifications you have to search deep in settings. Whenever I submit an assignment I go straight back to the classes view. The app feels clunky and my teachers are always complaining about having to use it, grades sometimes randomly move Column’s onto different assignments or just outright disappear the phone app and desktop app need a revamp. Overall there’s nothing outstanding about the service ,I think my district is switching to canvas next year so I’m so happy. Please fix you app

Guess what? I am a student who uses Edsby and it does its job, but the format can DEFINITELY use improvement. There are SOOO many glitches, often resulting in me not being able to see my grades or messages or teachers or anything like that. The font and look of it is also something to me improved upon. It doesn’t look nice, and it doesn’t fit the screen properly sometimes. Some functions, like the messaging, don’t work. For example, if I messaged someone and need to message another teacher, it forces me to exit out of the app and go in again because for some reason the keyboard is stuck on the page!! If there could be some improvements on Edsby it would be awesome and so beneficial for teachers, schools, and students alike.

This app would be much more enjoyable if we were allowed to have push notifications of updated grades or if anything was added to a class. The little red notif on the class in the app isn’t enough. Sometimes I don’t want to check edsby just to not see any grades put in, push notifications would be really helpful. It’s like a little reminder to check your grades and make sure that you’re on track. Please try to make this a possibility, there are others suggesting this too. Thanks
