East Ren Taxis

I’ve used this app a few times now and, whilst it worked really well on one occasion, I’ve twice been left waiting in the cold for a taxi, with no updates as to when it might arrive, and eventually had to phone for more info, which pretty much defeats the purpose of using it in the first place! When booking a taxi to pick you up ‘ASAP’ there’s no facility to tell you how long the taxi will actually be, as the tracking only works once the taxi has been dispatched. Also, it’s very frustrating to be able to ‘book’ a taxi for a particular time when there are no taxis in the area that can fulfil the booking - if I had called and been told there was a 45 minute wait for a taxi I’d have tried another firm, but the app gives a false sense of hope that your taxi’s on its way. Overall, it’s a good idea that needs some work to be properly useful.

Good app, I use it frequently from Mearns to Airport. Issues with East Ren relate to the relatively small number of cabs on the road not the lack of info on the app. I find they work really well when you pre book as they are cheaper

My experience was exactly the same as the first reviewer, and it seems like none of these faults have been fixed. If you need to use them, then just phone, the app is a complete waste of time.
