DOX: A Puzzle Game

This is what I like to see in iPhone puzzle games: a simple concept, addictive, and something that makes me think. This game has taken up a lot of my bus rides too and from work (the endless mode with randomly generated puzzles is great!). I loved the way the mechanics are introduced (gives me vibes of The Witness, which is not a bad thing at all!)

I haven’t played anything else that’s similar, and that’s refreshing. There are no instructions because that’s part of the game; the information in the description on this page is enough to start playing. Thinking, exploring solutions, making mistakes, and then trying something else is how to play. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews by people who need step-by-step instructions. It’s too bad their reviews are going to hurt this game’s rating.I’ve been enjoying DOX far more than some other games that I’ve spent a lot of money on and that also had 5 star reviews.

Great puzzle game, easy to learn, and the endless mode means you never run out of puzzles! Love the minimal aesthetics. I’m not a big puzzle game person but it’s really fun to pick up on my commute. Reminds me of The Witness in how you learn how each piece works by experimenting.

I have been working on row 15, puzzle two for 2 1/2 weeks. Someday I will figure it out. But I do wish there was a hint button or a forum for those who could help the stumped. Instead, I just go back and play the other ones.

Would be nice to have even a little direction. I realize free games are minimal but a few "get started" instructions would be nice for casual gamers like myself, either with a small demo of a few written instructions. I gave up and deleted.
