Domino's Pizza for iPad

I normally pay by PayPal but decided foolishly to pay by my bank card. It looped me into an authorisation screen which required me to go and get my phone out, log into the banks App then authorise the payment. This I did, all correctly on the app (despite the faff and poor user experience) only to then be told the authorisation failed due to incorrect details. They were clearly correct on the banks app and linked to my account. I went back to paying with PayPal and now have the joy of waiting to see whether I get charged twice. Please go back to the Process map on this one the e-2-e journey isn’t good and you are adding unnecessary pain points to anyone not ordering via their mobile.

We’ve been ordering from dominos for quite a while now and we have noticed that the quality and presentation of the food (Pizzas in particular) has really went down hill, just like the toppings. Most people are used to eating theirs with the topping still attached to the base but unfortunately the Bathgate franchise seems unable to manage this a little too often. Also the chicken kickers have the taste and consistency of an old rubber squash ball and have little to kick about. We really liked our weekend treat at dominos but the last few months have been really dire..

Picking food/ordering is fairly straightforward but the app is lacking in some key areas. Firstly, some minor things - the pizza tracker has never synced properly with the order/store once food has been ordered. Also: often the order and the tracker disappear completely if you minimise the app after a certain period of time which is inconvenient. However the main issue with the app is the need for customers to retype their name address etc every time an order is placed. Via the website you can login to an account where these details are stored - there doesn’t seem to be a way to do this here. A good layout/ordering system but some basic functionality elements are missing.

Some minor irritations; as others say it is difficult to enter voucher codes - but to be frank this may be more due to the dominos restrictions on how they can be used! Too easy to keep adding food when you are hungry! Adding to this to point out that the iPhone app gives easier access to the voucher discount codes, delivery tracker and so on. On the iPhone app it at least allows discounts to switch in and out. So I now wonder why they need two different apps. Competitors offer automatic deal calculations or telling you what you need to add to get the deal.

Now I’ve used the app before, for home delivery as well as collection, and not had a problem but this time, when I went to confirm the order and specify home delivery there was no address and if I wanted to change the address (from nothing!) I would lose the contents of my basket. So I had to go through the whole ordering process again after changing my personal details which incidentally the app told me I would have to do via the website after I had successfully changed it! Then, to complete my customer experience, I couldn’t select PayPal as my payment method. All in all a pretty poor show!
