I downloaded your app (Deluxe Sun) from the app store yesterday. I have given a one star rating only because there was no lower rating.
I have 221 apps on my iPad including yours which I downloaded yesterday. Over the years I’ve downloaded and deleted numerous apps for various reasons. All of them, except yours, work properly. I started downloading and using apps on the original iPad; I now have the latest latest version of the iPad. The WIFI in my house as well as all programs and other apps are functioning properly.
In the app store you app shows California as the location. I have several weather (and other) apps that that allow the user to use the Internet to select various cities around the world. Yours presumably, permits this as well, and in because when I downloaded your app it showed my current location. The app does not pinpoint my current address, it is only off by several streets; and while that is a minor problem, it is not the problem. It tells me that you’re app is at least partially functional.
I don’t know what is wrong with the app so I will list some of the problems, in no particular order:
- when the app opens there is a message at the bottom of the page that says “getting data from the Internet”. This is followed by a second message titled “WETAHER” (which I assume is what weather spelled incorrectly). This is followed by a second message “can’t connect to the server”.
- there is a compass on you app which points correctly north from my location which tells me the Year-End at nose at least for roughly where I am located. When I click on the compass a map a new expanded map opens showing the location several streets away from my current location. The time shown on the app show the Solar time (which is approximately an hour and ½ different from the current local time). It also shows times for Sunset and sunrise; Civil, Nautical and Astronomical twilight. All times shown are in sync and changing, unfortunately the times are all incorrect for my location.
- other than allowing me to change between the main screen and the map screen, I cannot make any other changes to the app. I cannot change the app to my son’s location in Irvine California so I can see the various Civil, Nautical and Astronomical twilight times in his location. And my incorrect in assuming that you wrap should permit this? In addition, there were “no” icons at the either the bottom or the top of the app (present in my other 200 apps) which allow changes to be made to the app.
I note that you have had no ratings to date and I hope that these early glitches can be quickly corrected because I would really like to have an app that would do what I expected your app to do. I will keep the app for a week to see if corrections can be made, if not will get a refund from the app store. I will keep checking back on your app will re-purchase as your app would be very useful. If you can make the corrections and will also advise others in the astronomy club I belong to and recommend that they also purchase your app.
