Dark Wave

No game is perfect but this game adds a sweet twist to what would otherwise be another temple runner: wave physics. Not only do you have to avoid randomly lane switching obstacles, all the “lanes” act like ocean waves! The only way to survive is to learn to anticipate where the waves are going to toss you (and the obstacles). The soundtrack is the reason I gave it 4 stars. If i had the ability to choose trance or edm style soundtracks I would like it more. Hint hint

There’s little point to creating a game that causes constant frustration with random variables that only serves to prevent you from ever completing it. Dark Wave is well presented and has a very likable music soundtrack. But it is unfairly challenging after level 25 or so, which leads to boredom and, for many, simple abandonment. What’s the point of that? The ‘easy mode’ attempts to make things fairer but doesn’t quite succeed. There’s no easy mode on the Apple TV version, nor any in-app purchase offering to acquire the endless mode if the player so chooses (they purchased the full game, right?). This is the first - and last - game I’ll get from Semidome. You blew it.

It’s weird. I get where they were going but the game is difficult with all the movements and for me, personally I think that if they were trying to get a more scary game then 👏🏾👍🏾 Great. But it’s not my thing. I need more relaxing 😌 This game make me anxious and when you get hit it’s says “DEAD” and that’s unsettling.
