Cybrary on a desktop is amazing! Great leaner resources, blogs, and great for anyone who has interest in IT, Cyber Security, and technology in general. However, for mobile devices the app isn't so hot. I have the latest version of the app installed on my iPhone 7 running the latest iOS 11.1.1 but the app has issues playing videos, having the sound play if the phone is on mute but the volume turned up, if you turn your phone sideways for "landscape" once you turn it back to "portrait" you have to close and reopen the app as everything is shifted and squeezed to the left and is invisible. I also went to the cybrary website and its perforce isn't that great for a mobile device or is hard to navigate and the menu items do not scroll while the page in the background does. Hopefully this get fixed soon!

This app really does have the potential for delivering a high quality experience however, the app and the website needs many improvements, including accessibility features for those who are visually impaired and use screen readers like myself. Besides some of the other issues that have already been mentioned here by others, I have recently been experiencing issues with the library of videos and courses not showing up in the app. It doesn’t even show the current enrollments that I have in the app. Another annoying issue for blind persons like myself, is that a lot of the courses that show up in the app do not display the course title when scrolling through different sections of my current enrollments and also when scrolling through all courses. There is just an output of there being a button but does not say what the button does or what the name of the button is. It’s kind of hard for a blind person to choose something if they do not know what they’re choosing.

I like the Cybrary website and it’s the top recommended video course for the CISSP cert, but the app is unusable. I had hoped to use it for videos on the go while walking to work, working out, or even at work so I didn’t have to use my work laptop on my lunch breaks. The app doesn’t load any courses. At all. It shows I’m not enrolled in any but when I go to my profile it shows up as enrolled in the CISSP course. Trying to search shows no results. Showing all courses shows no results. I can only pull up limited videos and none that are useful to me. The fact that they haven’t updated the app in over a year isn’t helpful either. I guess this is no longer supported by the developer.

Honestly I’ve used versions of the app from when it first came on iOS; there have been many improvements but some remain :- 1. it’s still not as user friendly as it could/should be. iPhone only, no iPad app. 2. No landscape mode. 3. No easy way to skip ahead to other sections in modules, and when you exit out of full screen mode to try to skip to another video I get a black screen with the audio from the video still looping. 4. There’s no way to get in touch with Cybrary from within the app. At least a screen with a link or some form for feedback would do the trick. It’s almost like they want all their feature requests etc. to go to iTunes. It knocks down the app’s rating. I look forward to the new and improved app that comes out next.

I have been using this app for almost a year now, and have had absolutely no issues with it. For those of you having issues with no sound, did you try checking the volume on your device? I have this app on both my iPhone 7 and my fourth-gen iPad mini, and the sounds works fine on both of them.
