Curious Cat: Paid Surveys

I downloaded this app (like many survey paying apps) expecting to have to spend a good week or 2 weeks to get enough credits to be able to cash out. I was surprised to learn that after 3 or 4 surveys (an hour) I had earned 100+ credits (1 credit being 0.01p). I cashed out the £1.60 and it was immediately in my PayPal. Hey, it’s not a scam! BUT, a few of the surveys I’ve clicked on either freeze and I have to refresh therefore losing out on the survey all together or aren’t compatible. Other than that, it’s real money, that you can actually earn and spend and there is no catch. Developers: a lot of the questions or pre survey questions are very repetitive, could you consider creating a profile where the user fills out their age, location, gender, job title etc so they don’t have to answer it at the start of every survey?

I downloaded and started to dig into doing the surveys right away. Before long I had gained around 200 points (£2 worth). I cashed it out and instantly the money was in my PayPal. I was very excited to continue but I quickly realised soon after that there is a couple of issues. After the initial rush of tasks I was given, I found myself with no more to do and I waited around all day to find I was only given a couple more low value tasks for the rest of the day. The other issue is that around 80% of the time (again, this is just my personal experience) I find that I am told right away after tapping on a task that I don’t qualify for it and immediately get taken back to the main screen, and occasionally I fill out the majority of a survey (which can sometimes take as long as 30 mins), and get told at the very end that I don’t qualify for it and only revive one point. I find these issues very annoying and if these were ironed out, this app would be amazing. Never the less, it’s still worth a try.

I never write reviews unless something is very bad or very good. In the case it’s very good. This app Is literally amazing, I’ve been using it since Tuesday it’s now Friday (the same week) and I’ve made £6. I must admit some surveys you do get to the end and get the thank you for completing our survey message and then told after you did the whole survey you didn’t qualify which can be irritating especially when you spent your time on that particular survey. But it can’t be that bad considering I’ve made £6 in 3 days out of nothing. New surverys are added every hour to 2 and not just 1 or 2 about 5/6 different ones. If you earn £2 a day (about 30m-1hr of your time depending on the survey) Over a month you’d have an extra £56 in your pocket, which really will come In handy, for me anyway. So I’ve put mine aside in a savings account and I’m going to treat myself once a month with my ‘earnings’. Highly recommend

The plus sides: it is genuine, they pay out at just £1 and it is in your PayPal account instantly, within minutes. So in that sense Curious Cat can be a good way to earn. However, on 3 occasions I completed a survey right to the very end - 25 minutes in one case - then got told I didn’t qualify for it and got one pawpoint instead of the pawpoints they said it would be. In one survey about clothes shopping, I passed the pre screeners, then looked at 50 photos of outfits and gave my opinion on each, gave my brand impressions on several clothing stores, and answered detailed questions on my personal clothing shopping, where, how much, when, what kind of stuff I liked, how much I would spend on each item etc. I got to 99% then told I didn’t qualify and got 1 pawpoint for trying instead of 77 pawpoints. I contacted support, they got back to me but said there wasn’t anything they could do. I decided I didn’t want anything to do with it anymore as I hate deceptive surveys with fake points, and I stuck with it until I made the next £1 then deleted Curious Cat.

It’s a great app there’s no two ways about it, it’s easy to navigate, reliable and helps you earn a bit of pocket money for your time. My problem isn’t with the app but with the quality of the surveys themselves. The bottom like is that a good percentage of them are awful and most you don’t even qualify for anyway. The fix for this is quite simple so I hope Curious cat takes notice. They should implement a system where you build your profile before you take any surveys (information like your age, where you live and what products you use etc.) and then they only show you what surveys you are already qualified for based on your profile criteria. It would save a lot of users time as well as saving the developers 1p each time Someone gets rejected from a task. Also it wouldn’t hurt to be a bit stricter on who you let host the surveys, some of them really are dodgy. That’s all anyway, great app but has its problems.
