Cue - Social Calendar

Beautiful user interface that sticks to the basics of social interactions. I am able to plan events with friends, create chats, send updates, etc without having all the other BS that comes with most social media platforms. The best part for me? I do not feel obligated to be friends with everyone! I only connect with friends that I hang out with in real life! Goodbye to the days of double booking myself and losing track of events.

The UI is baffling. I finally figured it out but when I invited friends and family they were lost and gave up. Can’t be very social if people can’t figure it out! The group chat brings me nothing over a group chat on SMS, WhatsApp, iMessage, etc. in fact it’s worse because even though I might want to talk about a football game with several friends, I do so in clusters because in the real world my uncle and my friend would never be on the same thread. I did find the events it suggested to be marginally useful. But local events were barely there, so mostly what I got was major sports and politics events. Kinda useful, but I could get the same from the Google Calendar subscriptions that are offered up if you’ve ever browsed them.

Cue is so much more! It’s everything I need to be reminded of without feeling like I’m using a calendar. I can now create an event for my potluck BBQ, invite all my friends and chat with them in the app to know what everyone is bringing, hopefully only one person brings Sunkist this time... I’ll never miss a big sports game or tv show release again, see ya later spoilers... Using the map I find cool/exclusive events happening in my area and put them in my calendar right away so I won’t forget, peace out fb events... Cue’s easy to use, clean design allows a novice like me to become a calendar genie! I recommend this to anyone who is tired of missing out because calendaring is hard/boring, with Cue life has become a bit easier.

It makes actually doing things and connecting with friends so much easier. I can see what’s happening around me and join in and see if my friends want to as well. Every year it seems to be getting harder and harder to actually make plans and do stuff. This helps me take control of my time and experience new things.

The app itself is beautifully designed and is very easy to use. The chat feature is nice, and the status one is even nicer. However, it’s not useful unless you have friends using the app. Also, even though there’s an option to login to Google Calendar, nothing shows up so you end up having to make events manually. I would love an option to import events to the app from Google and Facebook.
