Compound Media

This is the worst app which ironically hosts the best shows with some of the funniest people. Mr. Cumia is one of the most talented comedic geniuses who does not deserve this crappy app. The updates continue to fix nothing. Very disgusted. Update: To be fair, with the last update (1.0.24) a lot of the issues previously making the app horrific were resolved. Downloads are improved and faster and you can delete a downloading app to start over. However, still downloads unplayable shows at times (get a triangle with a / though it), seems to use data when downloading on WiFi only mode (phone’s WiFi assist is off). Although still a little frustrating, I’ll increase star rating from one to three for now.

I’m a huge supporter of everything and all the shows on Compound Media. This app is virtually useless. If you answer the phone it resets, if you browse away, it resets. Anytime you leave the app it resets. Know you have to wait for it to reopen, scroll through to find the show you were watching and the scroll to find a time stamp. It’s pure crap. You’re making it hard for me to get the content I’m paying for! Oh yeah. I’m a guy on the road a lot. I download shows to watch so when I may have a bad WiFi or no WiFi, I can still view the shows I want to view. I had 5 shows downloaded. I went to call one up 7 days ago, the app tells me I have no downloads. When I browse to the show I wanted to watch the app says it downloaded. The download manager in the app also stinks. You can’t download multiple shows unless you stand over it and keep the app in the foreground. There is not one single thing about this app that works well. Get a different company KTC. This is going to cause subscribers to leave.

Oh, because everything I try to support ends up screwing me over one way or another. Like a terrible ex-Wife this app annoys, doesn’t do what it says it’s going to, costs money, costs valuable time, forgets everything I ever tried to do and customer service can make you suicidal. I think the problems are pretty well stated except I keep getting Cancelation notices even though I paid for a year. I’ve written to Cleeng so many times I should be on their payroll. Hopefully this update fixes the download problem where it gets to 99 or 100% and never finishes. Truly like my ex wife. Content is 5 stars but I don’t know how this got rolled out with all of these issues. I quit listening to Stern and SiriusXM all together for this app and convenience is not one of its strong suits. I think Geno and Berg should have the app as a guest some time. Definitely would only be able to see the app if it smiled if we are complaining it to actual people. I’m sure it’s late all the time too.

Jayman’s review covered every issue that I have with this app with the exception of the landscape mode cropping when I lay the phone down on a desk or counter. The same issues that makes me hate the CRTV app are carried over to the new Compound Media app. I can’t understand for the life of me why you’re going backward with the new app. Again this review is for the app and not the content. I’ll update my review and renew my subscription when these items are corrected...oh and put Night Shade on for an hour per day. STILL KEEPING IT AS 1 STAR. (Just a small edit) You would think that with the problems they’re having with this app and the timing of its release, the powers that be would extend everyone’s subscription through the end of August as a way to save face; but sadly the one functionality that seems to work flawlessly is the canceling of your access when your subscription expires.

I have been frustrated ever since the new app came out as the app would reset every single time I got a phone call(even if I ignored the call). I decided to delete the app for the 10th time but actually deleted through the settings as opposed to only pressing the x to delete the app. For iPhone under settings/general/iPhone storage/compound media you must “delete app” not just offload and again not delete it from the main screen. This worked for me, hope it helps.
