Chess - Learn, Play & Trainer

At age 89, I have decided to learn to play chess for the first time I’m my life. I have never had any interest in other board games including card games. While I have mild cognitive decline due to age I was looking for a strong mild stimulant to offset and avoid Alzheimer’s which my younger brother has and does no longer recognize me. This app allows me to play by myself with hints as to my best moves, which then allows me to better understand chess tactics and strategies. I find myself over the last ten days playing constantly on my iPad. Better than reading the Wall Street Journal or watching Netflix Both of which I have cancelled substituting the great courses plus which has hundreds of subjects that interest me. I reward myself after an hour of chess with this app by going to GreatCourses plus and enjoying a course or courses on musiccollegy Great fun and a great app for someone like myself who enjoys studying a difficult subject. I do have a friend who first interested me in chess and I look forward to the collegiality of a game that also meets my desire for togetherness.l

I've played chess for fifty years. Not very well I'm afraid. I've played classic boards, automated boards and app boards. App boards are by far my favorite. So convenient and versatile! This app is my favorite. First, I like the way it "plays". I'm actually slowly becoming a better player! For me the board is intuitive to use and helpful. The many boards and pieces to choose from is a nice touch. I also sometimes save games to play later. The menu bars cover everything I ever want to do and the fonts are very nicely done. The best chess board I have ever owned! Period.

Quite nice application. Easy to use. There are adds but absolutely do not disturb (small banner at the screen bottom). Good controls, useful settings, lot of skins. You start playing with miserable levels and it automatically increases every next game from 0 to 100. Good setting if you have not played for years and need training. Yet have not played with anyone online. Overall, I think, this is what I was seeking for.

They could do better with the options and settings with where they are because it's sort of all in your face but it's a good app for playing chess however I've seen others that I liked better too. I personally like the board and pieces then the other stuff should be on a different page but I don't design the app. It's a great app for someone who is learning to play and people competing and stuff but if I want to play my buddy down the road there's an app we used to use that's it pados compatible anymore & it's the one I miss and it was simple the board & the chess pieces and that was the app I really like.

This app is overall amazing. It allows anyone to play no matter their experience level. It has a very simple and user friendly look to it. These things combined make this a great game. I only have one request, every time I try to play this game with my music playing, it pauses my music. I can’t have both playing. I’ve tried turning the sound off, but it still stops it. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but this is annoying. Chess is a very quiet game, and after a while it starts to bore me. With music I’d be able to play for hours.
