Honestly, I spend a lot of money on food, gas, and things I probably don’t need. In other words, I charge my card a lot. ChangEd rounds each credit card purchase to the nearest dollar. The app has its own savings account that collects the rounded difference. Once the funds add up to $100, the money then attacks to your student loan debt. It’s nice to watch $5 here and there add up to $100. It feels even better to see that $100 decrease student debt. I highly recommend this app. At the very least, give ChangEd a try.

I really like idea of money rounding apps such as this or ones that invest rounded change for you. However I wasn’t able to actually use this one. Unlike the investment apps I’ve seen this one takes a little more initiative on the users part to sign up. It’s not as simple as giving permissions to sync with your banking account and student loan account. It requires reviewing numerous screens on your loan account to find all their requested information. It does break it down for you and show you where to find all the required information according to who your loan provider is but in the end it wasn’t worth the aggravation. This isn’t a payment plan so it’s not really a necessity and isn’t going to make you’re life easier. You’ll still need to makes sure your amount is paid in full each month. For me it wasn’t worth the hassle just to put a few dollars into the accounts each month. Overall it’s a great concept but not worth the hassle.

In theory this is an awesome program. A friend told me about it and when she explained that they would collect all of the loose change in my account I fell in love because who is really pressed for change.. Everything was fine until the payment was “sent” to my student loan. The payment was never received. For two weeks I’ve been trying to rectify the situation but this companies communication is horrible. It’s like they pick and choose which emails to answer and when they do they give you some bs reason as to why the payment wasn’t received. I even went so far as to screenshot my payment history as proof and guess what?! I was met with no response. Like someone said above just pay your own bill. They are full of it and for all I know they are just sitting on my money. I’ve asked for a refund and if I do not get all of my money back I will take action with my bank

I love the idea of throwing spare change at my student loans but this app has never worked right for me. Some of my transactions never show up under the appropriate accounts that are linked so it’s hard to see where the spare change is coming from. Also with my credit card the app is pulling twice the amount of money it should be since it’s recognizing a pending transaction and posted transaction as two charges when it’s the same charge. I’ve emailed multiple times to contact someone about this and never get a solid answer back. I’m told it’s being worked on whatever that means. On a positive note I just sent my first $100 payment towards my student loans! Great app but the functionality needs much improvement.

I was Really excited to be get going after hearing what was possible inside of this app. Unfortunately my experience has been less than satisfactory. From the beginning there were problems syncing my bank account inside the app. I continued to get error messages so I reached out to the support team. At first they got back to me and told me the issue was resolved since they saw it as synched. I explained that I had just re-synched it and all they were seeing was a short period of the app working correctly. I had to re-submit a complaint to support. They responded that they were investigating and that I would have a follow up shortly. That was 10 days ago. By now I’ve given up. It never worked from the beginning. RIP Changed App
