The “Breastfeeding Friendly Community Initiative” (BFCI) is organised by the School of Nursing, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, co-organised by the Hong Kong Breastfeeding Mother’s Association and Natural Parenting Network, funded by the Food and Health Bureau, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. BFCI aims to provide management and staff training for public places as well as mothers to promulgate breastfeeding friendly attitudes; BFCI also develops a brand new baby care app, named “Breastfeeding GPS” (bfGPS). The bfGPS is a brand new user-friendly breastfeeding app with various features to provide timely, useful and accurate information according to personal needs and preference on breastfeeding facilities. It supports and ensures mothers, parents and carers to sustain breastfeeding through locating the nearest breastfeeding facilities in the community. This app requires an Internet connection. Users should be aware that using the app might incur mobile data usage.
