This is definitely an improvement over the old polar charge / polar instant apps which were just horrible to use ... hope this keeps developing along the current lines to make it much more usable. The only major issue I have now is that several charging points seem to be missing from this app which show up on the polar / polar instant maps??

Why would you make a charging app that doesn’t tell you about your recent charging history? It takes money for your charge but you can’t even see how much. I emailed to ask where in the app I could see this info but was told it might be included in a later version! 🤪 Also, the first and only time I used it was at Bournemouth Hospital which is free to use - it even says that in the app - I’ve used it many times with the Polar app with no problem and no fee. When using this app I was charged about £7. I’m not sure of the exact amount because it doesn’t tell you! I emailed them about it and they came back with a reply that didn’t make sense. I emailed again asking if I would be refunded but haven’t heard back since . . .

If you own a EV and regularly charge on the public network then this app is essential. It tells you all you need to know about the bp Chargemaster network with the added bonus of real time availability and the ability to initiate a charge once you are logged in! I am excited to see what other features they are going to come up in the near future! A much needed improvement on the current apps available.

It’s a decent enough app. All the basics I expect including charger availability. Reason it’s 5 stars for now is because it seems to be adding features quite quickly, even since its recent launch. If it keeps that up, it’ll soon be the best one on the market today (if you’re a polar subscriber). If not, star rating will go down :-)

First of all it cannot find my location automatically. Rather annoyingly it was centred on London to start with and I had to scroll up to Yorkshire where I could see my location pinpointed. Strange it didn’t just go there straight away. I enabled allow location after installation. Secondly, none of the roads have names (!). I cannot get my head round this. Why have a map with no road names? Thirdly one of my local chargepoints is specified as being available, but it has been blocked off for some time. Another charger I checked that I drove past this afternoon and has been out of action for the last two days, is showing as being available. Lastly, no room for feedback. The five star reviews look like they have been written by employees. Not overly impressed. I will stick to Zap-Map for a while longer.
