This thermostat hardware is excellent but the software is horrible. The GUI is not user friendly and incredibly difficult to understand. My 3M filtrete thermostat from 2009 is easier to use. This does connect easily but once connected forget trying to set it. First of all it’s schedule is painful, you have to set four different settings and their thresholds just add it. I don’t use four temperature settings in my schedules. Secondly, every time you switch for heat to cool you have to recreate the whole schedule again!! Absolutely horrible!! Come on Bosch I expected more from this company.

I had to reconnect this thermostat several times. It loses the login credentials for the wireless access point. Another problem is that the mobile app only offers a subset of the features available at the touchscreen interface. For example, I cannot remotely view the runtime on the device, and therefor would not be able to determine if there was a heating or cooling problem causing excessive runtime. Other thermostats do not have this problem. Will be returning it.

I have 2 BCC100 thermostats and the app works perfectly in controlling them inside the house and when outside/away from the house. Only complaint is I wish the app and the thermostat worked with Apple HomeKit and Google home, etc. maybe one day.

This is hands down the glitchiest app I have ever used in my life. Every so often, which is too often, the app says “device offline”, which is incorrect. Wall unit shows full WiFi connection. I don’t know if this is due to some sort of maintenance on Bosch’s side (I doubt it), but it’s very annoying and unacceptable. I’ve put up with these monthly “device offline” moments for over a year. Time to dump this thing in the trash and buy a Nest.

Would be okay if it had decent support for iPad (i.e. landscape/horizontal) view. This is unfortunate because one of the major reasons for owning a Smart Thermostat is to have these extra features, such as full graphic support on mobile devices! And what a simple feature to add! Why not have it? I’m passing up the Bosch thermostat and getting one that works in the 21st century. It’s really too bad.
