Booksy for Customers

When l 1st heard that l had to book via an app for my boys to get their hair cut, l wasn’t too pleased to be honest. However, now, l love it!!😍👍🏾 it’s SO easy. I can book for my boys & coincide with the times so they are close together, which saves us hanging around for ages. They can choose the days, times & barber they want, which suits them best... which is fab! Brilliant app, would recommend!x👍🏾💇🏽‍♂️

I hate that my local barbers uses this service. All I want to do is book an appointment once every few months but your awful UX forces me to have to open the App Store, download the app, sign in etc etc. Even more frustrating when I try to amend or cancel my appointment following an email link, just let me do this via my browser on your website. But yeah congratulations dev and product team, you’ve managed to do the exact opposite of what good tech should do and somehow added a bunch of extra steps into what should be a super simple process (I.e., you want cancel your appointment, click amend in the booking email, go to webpage in one click and then amend BUT no it’s get bounced around a bunch of webpage redirects, open App Store, Touch ID, wait for download, open app, answer a bunch of pref questions, sign in etc), useless. I’m sure this app is great if you go to lots of salons, beauty appointments regularly etc but I just want to get my hair cut every couple of months, don’t force app as the only channel. Build a compelling app and users will go to it anyway, all your doing is inflating your download figures.

The app itself is nice presented and easy to navigate, and allows me to easily book with my favourite barbers without any fuss. The only thing that’s spoils the experience for me is firstly the constant push to get me to allow location access - I don’t need to be reminded of this every time I launch the app. If I ever feel the need to use location services in the app I’ll allow it. Secondly, the app also asks every single time I launch it what services I’m interested in seeing: I shouldn’t have to choose this option every time. The fact both these things happen the moment you launch the app isn’t great.

So I had used this app once before and it was good, appointment reminder, easy to see times and overall a very well designed app. And the second time I used it, it was the same. Booked my appointed went on the day and thought nothing of it. Then I realised a couple of hours after my appointment it had taken a fee for not turning up despite me already paying at the time. Tried to solve it with Booksy directly and they were no use, tried with the barbers and still got told “I wasn’t there”. So to summarise good app but literally in full hands of barbers to effectively steal your money.

I was recommended Booksy by a good friend and have only been able to get one appointment through it successfully. I booked a nail appointment, it was confirmed and I turned up and the girl had no record of the appointment, she said she’d been having issues with the app. I have just made a nail appointment somewhere else and rang to ensure this was valid and they have said that their business shouldn’t even be advertised on Booksy anymore! So now I cannot get my nails done when I wanted to as everyone else is fully booked! Not happy I’m afraid.
