This is a great app and wonderful setup when everything works. It does what it says--controls the lights remotely, but you cannot control the intensity of each light independently--it's all or nothing. I'm not crazy about that. The music addition is fine for a loud party. The lights change color with every sound. It can get pretty intense. Be sure to keep away from any epileptic friends while in this mode. It is sure to bring on a seizure. The same mode can be a bit more calming with New Age music, but the sounds have to be widely spaced to get that calming lighting effect.
The color settings, themselves, are a matter of personal preference, and therefore highly subjective; I can't speak for anyone but myself here. I tend to prefer bright white lighting as the others tend to be a strain on the eyes.
Unfortunately, one of our two bulbs disappeared from the network, and we cannot figure out how to get it back. Furthermore, we have two household members with the app, controlling the same lights for 2 years now--no problem--last week, the other of the two of us lost contact completely. I have tried opening and closing the app. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. No luck. I went to app support where there is no choice for help in English; I'm sorry to be the "Ugly American" here, but when an app is sold in the American Apple App Store, I expect to have follow-up support in English. There are enough English words on the site to let people know what they do and what they sell, but not enough to help a stranded English-speaking customer. Why even direct us to app support here IN PLAIN ENGLISH if there were to be no help in English?!?
