Birchbox

My favorites are usually sold out or even discontinued as of late. I’ve been a subscriber a touch over a year. There have been 3 times I didn’t receive a box. This probably has more to do with where the box is delivered (leasing office) rather than my front door as I have requested 3 times... not a huge deal I know, but it’s still $45 worth of nothing... I don’t wear lipstick or blow dry & style my hair. My look is minimalist- I have long, naturally blonde, now silver hair which I allow to dry naturally. I love Davines Alchemic Shampoo & Conditioner for Silver hair-the Best! Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream & Beauty Protector Protect & Oil; all have surpassed my wishes for performance. Besides hair products, I’d like to mention LXMI Creme du Nil- nearly magic, very close to my favorite Sisley moisturizer. The Yensa tone up primer: Essential Glow. I wear it without foundation, just some bronzing powder. I felt as if my skin could breathe. Amazing coverage- I am freshly awed! I’m dying to sample the 11:11 vanilla parfum; a sample came in one of my missing boxes. I need a new fragrance. Thirty years of wearing COCO by Chanel has been great, but it’s too heavy & loaded with too many memories. More samples, please but nothing with roses, thank you! My needs & wants are few- but specific. Overall- I really enjoy Birchbox. Sometimes you need an artful box filled with alchemy 🙂🌺!

This box each month has allowed my daughter my nieces myself and my sisters to all find and try make up and hair products that we like without throwing out full size unwanted products or running back and forth to mail to return and argue to get money back. Birchbox helps to allow me and my family including my son too to try new things see what is out their in products but not break the bank and when we find what we love we can get it in full size at great prices! I love receiving the boxes each month. I don't the get the chance to go shop or treat myself to just for me items or even time that often...so coming home to find my box each month is exciting fun and really makes my day. I love that they share how to use the products and are so helpful if you don't get it on how to use or other tips they always respond to email or calls and I love the personal courtesy professional staff!! Best best thing ever. I have as gifts to all the women and now my son as gifts and they all love receiving it!!

Not only do I love getting my box every month (because boy do I) but I also really enjoy browsing the Birchbox app! I have learned so much about products through the reviews and info. listed. I go on every night and that's a treat in itself. I love anything makeup & skincare etc. now a days. I never even wore make up until I hit 30. I was a beginner when I started with Birchbox and now I'm proficient, I know my stuff! For $10 a month (although I get the beta subscription for $15) ladies (or gents) it's worth every penny. I love the beta subscription with the curated boxes only offered to us along with other choices each month. Well worth the extra $5 if you like knowing or choosing what you're getting. Overall I love it and I also have IPSY. They are different. IPSY really plays to the younger hipster crowd as far as their app, whereas Birchbox's app is more classy. Both have equally good products overall though but I definitely recommend Birchbox or at least downloading the app.

Update* The samples have gotten better and usually bigger. I have been very happy with quite a few things. However, you have to remember to go and pick a box that has items that work for you or that you like. The problem is that most of the boxes are gone before you even go to pick. Then you get stuck with a box that has some of the same stuff they have every single month. I added a star because the samples have gotten better, but they run out of boxes before you can pick. *** Original Review This could be a fun thing but the samples they send are so small it is not worth the price. They send samples anyone can get for free at Sephora (a one-time use pouch of moisturizer—how cheap can you get?!). And, if you don’t remember to go and choose the box you want for the next month then it looks like they just throw in whatever leftover samples they have. They don’t actually follow your beauty profile. There is no way to contact them and the app is not very thorough. Not worth the $$

This app really needs to address some issues that it has had from the beginning. First off, when browsing search queries the page “jumps” when you reach the bottom. I guess it’s loading the next few items, but it’s super annoying and you feel as if you’ve lost your place. Secondly, the main articles on the home page never update chronologically. The first article on the app says curated box from December 2017. It’s now May 2018. Put the new articles first. And lastly, the top of the page cuts off when moving from page to page. You cannot see the back button or the list menu button and often times press the wrong button in an attempt to tap the sliver of button that is visible. I hate using this app for those reasons alone because it makes it very user unfriendly. And this issues have been there since the beginning of the app!
