Beryl - bike & e-scooter hire

We started using the Beryl bikes recently and loved our first couple of rides. The bikes were clean, readily available and the app was nice and smooth. This past week we have had to walk around for around an hour each time trying to find any bikes available and many we do find fail to unlock. When we finally found bikes the hand grips have been falling off, rubbish in the basket area and in two separate occasions had bikes that would not change gear. The last time we rode one of the seats fell to the lowest position during the ride despite it being locked in place. Finally since this is an App Store review, the app has been displaying available bikes that are not at the location at all over the past week. This is a great service but too trusting that people will respect and park the bikes properly. I don’t like paying for a minutes bundle only to find no bikes available for the whole day.....

Dunno why got so much hate from other reviews , me and the wife walking around kept seeing these bikes dotted around so the next morning we got up downloaded the app found 2 nearest bikes and went for a bike ride from bournemouth to southbourne and back not a tech savvy person and was really easy paid for a day and just popped the bike in a safe place by bournemouth pier , wish this was around in my hometown great idea

Hadn’t heard of these guys; tried the day pass. App was seriously smooth; bike was comfy as. Only gripe with the whole system (and this is just me being picky) is I wish the docking Bay Area was marked; feels a bit hit and hope. I’ll get a minutes package on this for next time I’m in town Edit. Docking bays not marked on the ground - St. Paul’s tube; Moorgate tube. Both marked in app but reliant on phone gps as to the accuracy

I’m always seeing people ride around on these bikes so thought I’d give it a go. Really quick to get setup and, now that I bought minutes it’s so cheap to use! Sometimes there are problems with the bikes but the customer service team are quick to reply and always very friendly. I’d definitely recommend using if you have them in your area 👌

So, after “unlocking the bike” for it not to work whilst the minute go up and up and the support team not being 24hr I am now continuously being charged and having to wait till tomorrow morning when they open. It is bank holiday tomorrow (Friday) and Monday and I am now worried I’m being charged £72 a day..... I have bills to pay and with corona virus making it already difficult this con of an app is rinsing money. Will probably on the street, kneeling down behind an alley by Tuesday when they decide to open to try and gather enough money to buy food.
