BBC iPlayer Kids

Almost perfect but not quite there yet. The app is brilliant for allowing your little ones to watch their favourite shows on the go. Downloading lots of Hey Duggee, Bing and other shows saved us on a long trip across Europe in the car with a 2 year old. However there is one big issue and question to be answered. Why can’t the downloaded shows, if different just go one after the other? It’s ok for the same show to follow one episode after another but it then stops when it hits a different show all together. This is difficult whilst a car is in motion and I have to turn around to sort out the app (as a passenger!) or stop the car to sort if I’m the driver, putting it back on its mount.

I would give you 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact the buttons for play, stop etc were so small and in the most awkward of places. I. E the stop button right next to the cast button. This app is aimed at the small and infant stages of engagement with smart devices so you’d expect the odd stray finger but why not replicate the button size of the CBeebies apps? Otherwise the app is great.

I like the clean look of this - too many kids things have way too much going on visually and can be overwhelming. Two suggestions for improvement: 1) a function to choose programmes from a list ordered by running time (essential for that moment just before tea when you find you’ve burnt the kids food!!!), 2) a function to search for keywords in the programmes description - e.g. you want to bring up all programmes that feature tractors, trucks, kangaroos, ducks (you know - feeding your kids latest obsession) - at the moment we have to work around this using google and it’s a total faff

I think this is and amazing app because there is something for all the family and something to suit all kids it is super easy and the best part is the monster which is really creative and fun 👌👌to be honest I don’t have 1 (one ) bad thing to say about this app it is good for when you are bored or have friends over or just really want to watch something I would definitely recommend this app it is a life changing and saver🌎🔥🔥😁😁😁

This app is GR8 I can do everything in it, and stops me from asking mum “are we there yet?” On long journeys. (I.E 8 hours to Gram’s!) fab, although it can be a bit laggy- but not long and it doesn’t stop u watching the show! Hope future updates make it less laggy, otherwise it is fabulous already. Maybe more customisation of avatars- just a thought. Overall, great app!
