Awele/Oware - Mancala HD

Love the sounds, layout, design...makes me feel like I'm playing the real thing. For the next update, please disable sound so I can continue to play music in the background.

I played Mancala a number of years ago and was excited to see this game. My main complaint is that the instructions are not clear. I would suggest that they need to have a native english speaker edit the instructions. I was able to eventually figure it out, but only because I've played Mancala before. I don't think the rules are exactly like Mancala, but that's OK. It's still a fun game to play. At the medium level, it is a challenge to win. I probably win now about 40% of the time. I have had problems with the menus not being sensitive enough. I have to tap fairly hard to get it to accept my input. Once in the game, it is fine. I do have one major problem right now in that Awele crashes every time I try to start it. I quit Awele before I finished a game and now I can't go back to that game or restart a new one. I'm REALLY hoping they come out with a new version soon. I'll probably just reinstall the game for now and hope it works. If they improve the instructions and fix the bugs, then I'd be willing to give this game 5 stars.

I feel ripped off. This game claims to be Mancala but fails to deliver. Although I have nothing against the visual aspect of this application, the rules for this game are absurd! THIS IS NOT MANCALA. A simple google search for 'how to play mancala' will reveil how the game is supposed to be played. Your supposed to deposit stones in your own bank when you go around, but this game does NOT. It also uses these confusing and rediculous capture rules of landing in a pile of 2-3 stones is a capture, as well as capturing stone piles behind it. The instructions are a joke. The developers broken English is so hard to follow I can't even figure out what rules he IS going by! All in all, DONT GET THIS!!!! Unless you play by these weird alien rules that I can't even find on the Internet, look at another choice for apps than this. There is currently a 99 cent version that uses the proper rules, so I have bought both and the cheaper one is true Mancala, I don't know what this is.

I've played this game for years. This is very good.

The game itself is fun, reminds me of playing the board game with my dad as a kid, but the touchscreen interface for the main start up page doesn't seem to work well for me. I have to keep tapping an option to get it to work.
