Australia Post Postcards

I love this app and so do my family and friends. I am often sending postcards now for just about any reason... The app works too well. The only problem being, all cards because they are printed/dispatched from Melbourne are (logically) postmarked Melbourne - Causing my mother much confusion when we were on holidays in the Sunshine coast - she is still scratching her head! My thinking is, and I am sure the developers have thought of it as well, is that in many circumstances location information (from the phone) would be available and it would be awesome if this information was utilised somehow, preferably embedded in the cards postmark area. Other minor issues I sited are: Being able to send the same card to multiple recipients in one go (happy to pay for each). - would be great Would also be great, for referencing purposes, if a digital version of the card was emailed (even a watermarked version) to the sender. I say this because I once sent the same photo to my mother twice. Just thought of one more. It would be great if within the app itself it were possible to alter the layout eg. add words/graphics headlines etc to the front of the cards to allow us to achieve that 'tacky' postcard look we all love - well at least I do! But all in all I find it a fantastic bug free app. Perfect for time-poor who want to keep in touch the 'old fashion' way :-)

Great app. I use it all the time. But payment is a real pain. Manually inputting a credit card is dumb. One even has to tap each field to enter the next 4 digits, how irritating. Could you not scan the card like many apps do ? Or use Apple Pay or Wallet. I’ve had the occasion when a card didn’t arrive so I would have to send a copy to myself to know when/if it arrived. (Sometimes now I get 2 ??) But I love keeping a copy as it’s a great narrative of our travels. Couldn’t you have a CC Sender tick box. And what’s with the ‘standard font’ with no ‘ How primitive. I’ve been using the app for a few years now, time for an update AusPost ... please. PS as per ‘Revolution evolution’ the postmark from your location would be awesome!!

Great concept I normally use this app a couple of times a year when school photos are in and if there is anything special going on with the family I want to share with the grandparents However what would make this app top and would encourage me to use it more often Would be the following A collage maker A contact book so you can save addresses and use them later on with just the click of a button vrs re writing them But MOST importantly I would rather the end result be of better quality the photos I’ve sent have all be taken with extremely good camera’s so you could imagine my disappointment when I seen the photos were somewhat on the low quality side though they are still ok they could be improved I mean printing a picture out at Kmart with better quality and sending a few in one envelope works out around the same cost but better quality. However this has me using it purely for the novelty of it, but if the quality was to be improved I would probably use this every day of the week purely to save my trip to the store to print out photos I want to frame 😂 (well maybe not that dramatic but you get the idea) However I find this is a good app for the kids to use to send mail to their grandparents, so will still keep using it even with the low quality pictures and I guess that’s why it won’t be improved

* Update: Bring back basic punctuation! Apostrophes have disappeared :-(. ‘I’m’ doesn’t look right as ‘Im’ etc and it produces an error message every time. Disappointing. Previous review: I regularly use this app to send postcards of my daughter to her grandparents etc. They love receiving them and keep them as special keepsakes. The downsides however are that I have to use a different photo app to create a collage to upload, the borders are tacky, and there's no ability to add text. Additionally, you can't save postcards to send to new people later or save addresses you use frequently. It also lets you continue to type when you've run out of characters and then when you preview it just cuts off the extra characters. App needs further development but is basically workable.

What is the but? Well at least when I sent a card it was received this time. I had sent 20 odd a few years back and they were not received, money was refunded, and then about six weeks later people started thanking me for the card. A further but wait there is more. When doing preview of the text, it is not what actually gets sent. The last card had a big gap when it was received, so I added more text this time, but four or five lines could not be seen in Preview mode. Next but wait, I tried to use an apostrophe (‘) and received a message something like an unrecognised English character. No wonder apostrophes are used incorrectly. No doubt it is a super service, because while overseas you still only pay Aussie rates - far better than old postcards in shops and high unreliable postage.
