Auditory Training - Spice for Life

Speech-language pathologists, teachers and families can help students improve auditory memory, identify environmental sounds, improve music skills, and identify emotions and stress in words with the SPICE for Life app. A supplement to CID’s SPICE for Life auditory learning curriculum, this app collects data for each skill while the child and adult are engaged in motivating activities. Users can hear 209 sounds for animals, transportation, musical instruments, school, home and the park, the phone and computer. Background noise options are available for working on additional activities in natural environments. Work with up to three children at varying levels for each skill and email the results for reporting and communication purposes. Skills included in this app: *Improving Auditory Memory -recall and repeat a sequence of spoken words (live and recorded voice) -recall details of stories or information read aloud *Listening to Music -maintain consistent tempo -imitate rhythm -identify musical instruments based on sound *Identifying Environmental Sounds -identify environmental sounds in a small set -identify environmental sounds in a large set *Listening to Voices -identify stressed syllable in words -identify speaker emotion -identify a question vs. a statement
