澳門的公眾假期被稱為法定假日，而其大部分是起源於中國古代文化。澳門特別行政區的法定假日共有10個，當中有的長達二至三天，農曆新年就是其中之一。 除了法定假日，澳門慶祝的其他節日包括復活節前一天的耶穌受難日、佛誕節和端午節。基督徒的宗教節日都被列為紀念日，而紀念日當天是否休假，該決定是根據員工僱用合同或工會談判協議的條款自由裁量的。 In Macau, public holidays are referred to as mandatory holidays, many of which are based on ancient Chinese culture. There are officially 10 mandatory holidays, a few of which span three or more days, such as the Lunar New Year. In addition to mandatory holidays, Macau honours several observances including Good Friday, the day before Easter, the Feast of Buddha and the Dragon Boat Festival. Christian holidays are regarded as observances. Time off is discretionary, based on the terms of an employment contract or union bargaining agreement.
