99 Walks: Women’s Walking App

This is a great app for helping keep women motivated to walk and getting them out there and moving. My sister an I decided to try it because everything else we tried wore off pretty quickly. This is not 10,000 steps a day or walk x amount per day. It is a set your own goal and then make it with encouragement and folks to congratulate you when you do make it. The classes are wonderful, the podcasts are interesting, the community is fun and positive. There is room for growth in the app and I expect it will grow, but it is worth the price right now in health benefits and motivation.

I’ve really enjoyed listening to the podcast. When I feel overwhelmed, I find myself craving to take a walk and listen to Coach Jillie’s meditation class. When I feel relaxed and just want to get out and enjoy nature, I listen to an exercise class and I pull the music slightly higher than the vocals. The music is SO good! I enjoy getting immediate gratification after taking an intentional walk and the community, bracelet and in app inspiration is the cherry on top!

There are tons of ways to track miles, I like this one because of the extra motivation the app provides to get out and walk. A tracker won’t work if you’re sitting on the couch! I live where I lose service on my walks and was really happy to find that this one still accurately tracks my walks even without WiFi. I’d recommend to anyone who could use help getting outside.

So simple and easy to use - no fancy gimmicks! It accurately tracks my route (time and distance); provides optional daily encouragement, and saves my information so that I can see progress over time. It also has links to the 99 Walks movement which promotes regular walking with monthly goals and rewards. Both the app and the 99 Walks program are amazing!

I have only been a member of 99 walks for a short time but it has been awesome. It promotes health, fitness and community in the best possible way. I joined because I wanted to motivate myself to be more active and in turn got a community of other people striving to do the same. Truly motivational and fun! I recommend this app to anyone who is looking for a fun goal oriented platform for fitness.
