GAME PLAY: 8Spaceman is a platform jumper game. The Spaceman ship is about to explode with rising molten Lava to engulf him. The only way to survive the Lava onslaught is to keep jumping up and collect Boosters to propel him higher and higher. Spaceman can move sideways (left or right) by tilting the device (iPhone or iPad) and up by jumping from platform to platform and boosting upwards when a Booster is collected. Platforms are 2 types: Jumping and Breakable. Jumping Platforms allow Spaceman to jump up (to a higher Platform or Booster) while Breakable Platforms allow Spaceman to jump up but then breaks! Boosters are 2 Types: Normal and Super. Normal Boosters (grey circles) boost Spaceman up, Super Boosters (glowing white/blue) boosts Spaceman higher. OBJECTIVE: Highest score within 3 Spaceman Lives in a game. Best/Highest score is saved across games. SCORING: Score is incremented by +1 when Spaceman collects a Normal Booster and by +5 when Spaceman collects a Super Booster. The highest score of all games is saved as Best Score. LEVELS: There are no levels in the game, but each game has a random generation of Platforms and Boosters, making each game unique. BUTTONS: GameOverReset ends the current game, Sound On/Off switches game sounds and music on or off (for a more peaceful gameplay:), and Signature shows App Info & Credits. LABELS: Score is the current game score (+1 for each Booster and +5 for each Super Booster). Best Score is the highest score achieved for all games played. Lives starts at 3 and diminishes each time Spaceman is hit by the rising Lava. When Lives = 0 its Game Over. CREDITS: The Ray Wenderlich Tutorial Team for the 2D Apple Games by Tutorials excellent book [Caroline Begbie, Mike Berg, Michael Briscoe, Ali Hafizji, Marin Todorov and Ray Wenderlich]. The book contained a tutorial on building a Drop Charge game. I followed the tutorials and used the book resources (sprites, images, music) but updated 8Spaceman with my own designs: Score/BestScore/Lives labels and the buttons of AppInfo, Reset & Sounds.
