High-intensity training, which consists in repeated high intensity periods of work interspersed with periods of lower intensity, is a key component of the training program of every single athlete. The 30-15 IFT (2008) is a very popular intermittent running test used worldwide in almost every team and racquet sports of all playing standards to test athletes and individualize their run-based high-intensity programs. The final speed of the test (VIFT) is a compound measure of maximal aerobic power, anaerobic speed reserve, inter-effort recovery and change of direction abilities. In comparison with continuous and/or linear tests, using VIFT allows for more homogenous (between players) metabolic responses during high-intensity training. This simple but relevant app is the first to provide field practitioners with 1) written information on how to set up the test in the field and 2) audio clues (sound files) for players to pace themselves throughout the test.
