FluentU: Learn Language videos

This app is great if you want to learn from watching authentic speech from Chinese pop culture. Probably more fun than some of the standard apps. The only problem is that this is much less structured than competitive apps. Also, the could do more to improve the quality of the software, like offline downloads, review, or smoothness.

It is a sound, concept, can be fun but the Italian content, the langage I want to learn, is poorly represented, with only around 200 videos , in total!, and when you spllit that by level you find only 19 advanced videos, and less than 70 at intermediate level, the remainder being for beginners. However many are only film trailers. adverts from italian TV, ONLY 21 music videos, so not exactly stimulating content. German language has 1250! I am still in the trial period, with the intention, if I choose to subscribe, of using the even more expensive monthly payment as I cannot see the point of signing up for a year with such poor coverage that will not last that period, even if they would add 1 or 2 new videos per month.

It's a fun way to learn a language with lots of short video clips. I like that new ones are added, but is it necessary to take away the old ones? Other than that, it's a a good tool to add to your language learning arsenal.

I find it very useful, my Chinese has improved a lot. I really like that the app helps you learn the characters as well! Although the conversations could be more lifelike, I'm happy I subscribed.

Fantastic app. Helped me touch up on the languages I already knew, and was wonderful when I learned a new one. Bit pricey but you can't put a put on knowledge.
